Order at least 3 of the above printed booklets and you will receive a multi-pattern, reusable spore print card.

Experts know that the color of a mushroom spore print is probably the most important and stable feature for mushroom identification. We offer a tool to get the best quality spore print.

This sturdy, plastic-laminated, large bookmark size spore print card features several different patterns for showing the color of mushroom spore prints at their clearest and best. To reuse, simply wipe away the spore print with a cloth or tissue, and make the next print.

Spore prints are delicate, dust-like deposits of microscopic spores. The slightest touch destroys them. To make a print stable, give it a shop of ordinary hair spray. To remove a sprayed print from the card, wipe with a moist cloth or tissue.

For mushroom cultivators, this tool also lets you easily make sterile spore prints for growing mushroom tissue cultures in agar plates, etc. Simply wipe the card surface with a tissue or cloth moistened with alcohol (such as drug store rubbing alcohol). Cover with an inverted cup or bowl, and allowed to dry. Then, in a clean environment, quickly lift the cover and place your mushroom on the card. The print you get will be relatively free of contaminating spores. For more totally sterile print, elevate the mushroom specimen over the card when making the spore print. That’s about the best you will do outside a microbiology laboratory.

For lots more information on the topic of Magic Mushrooms and the currently rapidly changing laws regarding their possession and use, check out the Vaults of Erowid.

Here’s our latest publication. Needless to say, it’s not for everyone, and may be somewhat ahead of its time, depending upon where you live.

If you have been following the news, you know that the laws banning the possession, use and growing Magic Mushrooms are rapidly being eased or removed in many places in the U.S. And elsewhere in the world.

Because of widespread interest in the topic, I receive a surprising number of emails and personal communications from people who want to know more about these fascinating and remarkable mushroom species. On my wild mushroom walks and talks, one of the most common questions is about finding them. Sometimes we do.

This booklet is a collection of simple grow-at-home methods to attempt to grow these species. No advanced fungi cultivation techniques or laboratory equipment are required. Ordinary things found the house are all that are needed.

DON’T BREAK THE LAW. WHERE THESE MUSHROOM ARE STILL ILLEGAL, MERELY POSSESSING THEM CAN GET YOU INTO SERIOUS LEGAL TROUBLE THAT CAN FOLLOW YOU FOR THE REST OF YOUR LIFE.

So, until it’s safe to grow these species where you live, practice these techniques to grow other, legal mushrooms.
